The vacation home is located right at the forest edge of the National Park Drents-Friese Wold, where it is wonderful walking, running, cycling and mountain biking. Within walking distance there is an outdoor swimming pool, restaurants, bike rental and an experience trail. There is much more to explore in the region. The Blue Lake, national park Dwingelderveld, the Fochterloërveen, the 33 m high Bosbergtoren in Appelscha, the dolmens in Diever or Havelte. The museum of false art in Vledder or Museum de Koloniehof in Frederikshof. Daily shopping in Hoogersmilde and for a day of shopping to Assen (with the Drents Museum).
